Meet Anna…
Hello! I’m the founder, chief baker and cake designer behind Louly’s Little Bakery.
I’ve had a love of all things cake from a young age, thanks to my mum who was a brilliant baker! Myself, my brother & sister always had the best cakes on our village and they were always delicious too! Mum has a head full of recipes that over the years she has shared with us and whilst cooking and baking her recipes I fell in love with all things cake.
I remember the first time I made a celebration cake; it was for my niece. I had never decorated with fondant before and felt completely lost, hours of hard work and perseverance later I had finished it! I was hooked! From there, I started making cakes for family, friends, then friends of friends and it grew from there. Over the years I have had lots of practice and developed my skills in my spare time, whilst working as an Art Teacher and having my two little girls. After rebranding and setting up professionally, I registered Louly’s Little Bakery at the start of 2018.
With my background in Fine Art, I have a Degree & Masters in Painting & Sculpture. I thrive on the process of creating and by combining my two passions of cake and art, I have found a job that I love. Its fair to say, I eat, sleep and breath cake, from the initial conception of an idea, through the developing of a design, to finishing the final cake. And I love every minute of it! Another one of my favourite parts of running Louly’s is recipe development…there’s always plenty of cake at my house!
I always describe my cakes as edible art, each one created with a unfaltering meticulous eye for detail and a passion for creating truly unique and exquisite cakes. I am a firm believer that there’s always more to learn and have continued to develop my skills through courses, workshops and online CPD sessions.
One thing I always get asked is; where did the name Louly’s come from? Well, long story short Lou or Louly is a childhood nickname courtesy of my little sister!
